What Causes Excessive Weight Gain While Suffering From PCOD?

I have been suffering from PCOD since my 17 year ans I am 31 now. I had a baby two years back and gained lot of weight. Now my ultra sound scan says PCOD and mild hepatomegaly with fatty infiltration. My T3 & T4 levels are absolute normal and TSh is 6.6. I have been suffering from heavy bleeding from the past 15 days and my doctor recommended trapic e and rutin tabs for 3 times a day for 5 days. I am using them and my situation is not improved so far. I am having short breath and feeling so week. What should I take to get rid off from bleeding.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

The weight gain is from the altered hormone levels of estrogen and progesterone; which is also responsible for the high menses flow and anemia secondary to blood loss.

The basic control of hormone levels with hormone preparations is mandatory with supportive iron therapy. Wishing you fine recovery.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Purva Patel,
