Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
My 17 year old son has been having issues with pooping for a month now. Today we gave him magnesium citrate at 3 and one hour later castor oil one tablespoon and then just now we did a fleet enema and he has only produced a little brown water. We are very distressed and not sure if I need to take him to the hospital? What should I do?
HI Well come to HCM I really appreciate your concern, exact symptoms not being given here, if it is the constipation then no need to worry about this but better encourage the child for drinking more water, and have fiber containing diet, it is better to have regular habit of defecation even in absence of need of this, if the condition long last then may needs some investigation to ruled out some intestinal pathology, hope this information helps.
