What Causes Extreme Fatigue While Suffering From Sleep Apnea?

For the past six months I ve been experiencing, what was first thought to be extreme fatigue, a state of mind where I am only partially conscious (my description of the issue). I cannot focus and I often feel as though I am about to faint. My physician did not see anything out of the ordinary in my blood tests. I was also tested for sleep apnea but I do not present enough symptoms to be diagnosed with the disease. I am currently on anxiety medication because my physician believes it is what is causing the issue. I however, do not believe it is considering that I have been experience no change after two months of taking the medication. He informed me that I should be seeing some change within two months but the issue has only gotten worse.

Hi.Can understand your concern .As per your query it seems that you are not getting a proper sound sleep. In sleep apnea the person awakens several times in sleep in between as the airway is obstructed.Due to this your body is not getting relaxed and you are having fatigue.Do not worry.Have a complete evaluation done by pulmonologist for it.Tests can be done Polysomnogram or home sleeping test for which you have to go to the hospital. The condition is treated with special sleeping device called CPAP or APAP which maintain the airway pressure while your sleep to give you an uninterrupted sleep...Apart from this if you are obese then you should reduce your weight as sleep apnea is more common in obese people.Do pranayaam and medication to have a relaxed body and mind.Don't be overstressed...I hope the information helps you.Take care.
