What Causes Extreme Stabbing Pain In Palm When Pressure Is Applied?

Female 5'5" 175 pounds Clean medical history except for one pre-cancerous tumor removed from right palm about 10 years ago. Current condition - The left palm is experiencing extreme stabbing pain, but only when pressure is applied. Otherwise movement such as making a fist or picking up objects is not hindered. Pressure must be applied to a very small and specific location - this usually happens by accident when placing palm on table or ground for balance when standing up. There are no outward signs on the hand and there is no lump in the area either. There is no numbness or tingling either. Any ideas?
