Hello,

Botulinum toxin acts by binding presynaptically to high-affinity recognition sites on the cholinergic nerve terminals and decreasing the release of acetylcholine, causing a neuromuscular blocking effect.

So, this effect leads to muscle palsy. Probably, your orbicularis oculi and palpibriae superiolaris muscle are affected by it.

It may take time to recover. Don't worry about it. Please consult your doctor who will examine and treat you accordingly.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Penchila Prasad Kandikattu
