What Causes Fatigue And Decreased Appetite After A Day On The Beach?
My teenage son went to a Florida beach 3 days ago and withing 24 hours of being at beach was experienceing sunburn, fatigue and decreased appetite. Still has these symptoms, with exception of sunburn after 3 days, what should I do for him and what is wrong?
These symptoms are commonly caused by dehydration. The average person needs 2 liters of water per day to maintain adequate hydration. A day at the beach compounded by sunburn would require more than that. I suggest pushing liquids; particularly clear fluids- most importantly being water. Adding Gatorade/sports drinks can also be helpful.
