What Causes Fatigue And Excessive Weight Gain?

Thanks for contacting with your health concern

1. as there is a positive family history of Thyroid problem in family thus check with an endocrinologist for necessary investigations since he will be in a much better position to understand your case history and order investigations accordingly.

PS. As I'm unable to examine you directly, thus remember that low thyroid practically exaggerates all vague complaints like joint pain, backache, weakness, breathlessness, thus check for common causes of fatigue like:

- auscultate heart for valve lesions
- Hb% for anemia
- blood sugar: fasting & PP for diabetes
- X-ray chest for TB
- serum T3, T4 & TSH

PS. even if all tests are normal, try with tablet Thyroxine 25mcg once daily [therapeutic trial] after consulting with your Endocrinologist.
