What Causes Feeling Of Hot Sensations In Body Along With Profuse Sweating?
My friend was laying down, wed been in the sun all day. He said he didn t feel right. He started sweating profusely, claiming he felt heat waves coming from inside of him. It lasted about 30 minutes. He took a cool shower and feels better. What could have caused that
One should not lay in the sun whole day. Taking sun bath is good but you should move towards the shade once you start sweating. When body temperature rises in the sun and a person is not well hydrated, dehydration (sodium-potassium) depletions starts and may make one feel uncomfortable or have symptoms like sweating, palpitations, discomfort, dizziness or even vomiting.
Blood pressure may get affected and low blood glucose may cause fainting attacks. He is suggested to keep himself well hydrated. Give him ORS, Electrol, soup and juice. Give him light food (porridge, custard, oats meals, etc.) in small amounts multiple times a day. Let him rest and relax. Make sure he is not getting fever. He should avoid addictions if any and stay relaxed.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Nupur K., General & Family Physician
