What Causes Fever Along With Soreness In The Muscles And Body Chills?

I just got back from a trip, developed a fever the first night back, very sore muscles, woke this morning with the chills again, managed to get body temp down, don t feel feverish but still very sore. I can feel the chills coming back now. What s going on?

It seems like you have got a viral infection..
I hope you do not have any focus of infection like sore throat, pain on urination, abdominal pain, chest pain, cough. If a focus is present the fever can be due to the bacterial infection in that focus.
The viral infection with out any secondary bacterial infection usually subsides in 5 days. You have to take good rest, plenty of fluids, eat healthy food and take antipyretics for fever. If fever continues for more than 5 days or if you develop some other symptoms than what you have mentioned, then consult a physician. You have to get your blood checked for a complete blood counts especially platelet count.
