What Causes Fever And Earache In A Toddler?

I have a three year old son. He had a high temp late night, I am on vacation so I didn t have a thermometer . But it seemed rather high. He has been sleepy. Had a fever most of today. And he just told me and started crying his ears hurt. Then ate a banana and was complaining his mouth hurt! We were swimming Sat. Do you think I should look for a Dr now or wait and see a bit longer.

Hello,

Fever and earache are symptoms suggest that your son has developed infection in the middle ear. Kindly give him following medications to overcome it.
1. A course of oral antibiotic containing Amoxicillin with Clavulanic acid reconstituted syrup twice daily for 5 days.
2. Syrup containing Paracetamol for fever.
3. Syrup containing decongestant medication Chlorpheniramine maleate with guaifenesin and menthol along with it.

Gradually, he should feel better as the infection subsides.
