What Causes Fever And Swollen Lymph Glands Post MMR Vaccination?
Good afternoon, I am a 46 YOM and have had a history of leukemia (remission since 1985). I recently (10 days ago) got an MMR vaccine to attend a university and for the past four days have had the following symptoms: slight fever, swollen glands, body aches, rash. My pediatric Oncologist did not give me the MMR vaccine in the 1970 s. Should these symptoms be expected with this vaccine?
The symptoms that you have are related to the vaccine. I suggest you use an anti-inflammatory medication for the lymph nodes and the fever such as Tylenol. The symptoms will go away on its own in a few days.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
Regards,
Dr Dorina Gurabardhi, General & Family Physician
