What Causes Fever In A 23 Month Old?

Hi. My 23 months baby is suffering from acute fever. He has vometted twice yesterday. We've have taken him to a paeditition where the doctor has prescribed him -- Cepodem 100, Ibugesic Plus, Dompin-O, Junior Lanzol 15. Please advise me if he is on right medicines. He was doing well later of yesterday. But by 4 am today. He vometted (pale) once again and the fever is almost 101.7. Please suggest.

Pediatrician 's  Response
Hi,
Welcome to HCM forum,
The medications are right. But with such high fever and vomiting, it can be viral fever also. If so, it should subside or decrease in intensity in 48 hrs time. If child is otherwise well and feeding well and active when having no fever, then its alright. But if he is not active and not taking well orally, and symptoms persists for a long duration, better to get blood tests done to check if there is any severe bacterial infection.
Take care.
Happy to help.
