What Causes Fever With Ear Infections In Infants?

My 18 month old had a temp 103-104 over the weekend. No other symptoms but irritable and sleepy. I treated the temps with Tylenol and Ibuprofen. The last couple of days he is very sweaty and has cool skin. Should I be concerned? He has has 3 ear infections in the last couple of months.

Pediatrician 's  Response
Hi,
Thank you for asking question on health care magic.
Recurrent ear infections are common if the middle ear is affected.
The ear infection is triggered by cold and throat infection as the middle ear is connected through Eustachian tube to the Pharynx.
This is a serious condition and prompt treatment under the guidance of a ENT specialist.
