What Causes Fluctuations In BP Level While On Metoprolol And Amlodipine?

My blood pressure fluctuates between 168/95 to 103/62 all in the same day. I take Metoprolol tart 100 mg and Amlodipine 10 mg each once a day. My BP is normally 120 something over 65-70 and has been regular for years on that medication. Why now the fluctuating BP, and so erratic? Thank you. Do I have to pay for this? I thought I was on Med.com.

Hi Welcome to HEALTHCARE MAGIC..

I have gone through your query and can understand your concern...
Your blood pressure is fluctuating from High (168/95mmHg) to low (103/62 mm Hg). This is very harmful to your body.
First of all 100mg dose of metoprolol is high & taking metoprolol tartarate in a single dose of 100 mg could be responsible for sudden BP fluctuation. you should take Metoprolol tartarate 100 mg in divide doses, if not taking. Taking metoprolol tartarate has a short span of action & should be taken in divided dose (50 mg in morning after breakfast,25 mg after lunch & 25 mg after dinnar) or you could take slow releasing alternative like metoprolol succinate.
If your blood pressure is still fluctuating, you should consult a physician for this.

Refer to your physician
Hope this information helps
