Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I am concerned about my dialostic number blood pressure. I have for years used 2 meds for high blood pressure (lisinopril and amlodipine besylate) suddenly last week in my dr office blood pressure spiked 180/73 and 190/74 so I am now adding 0.1 clonidine am and pm ....today I took my blood pressure at home and it is 129/47 122/46 114/49 Is this a problem or ok
You are having Isolated systolic hypertension (ISH) in which systolic BP is high but diastolic BP is normal or low and usually occurs at old age. After adding Clonidine your BP is becoming normal.
