Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
My blood pressure is 98/58. Four weeks ago it was 98/52. I eat healthy, exercise heavily (swimming/cardio/weights) and am a competitive masters swimmer. I am 5 11 and 165lbs. A year ago, my blood pressure was 20 pts higher on the top and bottom. I am now eating a healthier diet than that time and my BP has dropped. Is my blood pressure too low?
Thanks for consulting the Physicians at HealthCare Magic. I have worked through your case thoroughly, and I can easily realize your health worries. Being your physician, I reassure you not to worry as things will settle down very soon. INo dear its not too low. its under the limits and u need no worries. keep calm and carry on with regular life. BP fluctuates normally, depends upon the circumstances in which u r taking the reading too. if u came from gym and take it, BP will be a bit high. after getting up calmly from bed will give a low reading. but 20 points low is a huge difference. may be u need some investigations. if u were at my clinic for a routine visit i should have done some tests to see whats your EKG, Blood oxygen saturation, Heart rate etc. but dont worry, when u go to physician let him do these tests and also he may take ur bp before and after exercise, lying on couch and sitting. Also the pulse tells the behaviour of heart and blood vessels.
May you get very well soon and have a wonderful time ahead. Please don't forget to give your valuable feedback to help us assist you in a better way.
Regards!
