Hi, may I answer your health queries right now ? Please type your query here... 88 year old, heart attack, in ICU, fluid in the abdominal cavity, unknown whether blood ? high blood pressure...low red blood cell count....would you allow a procedure, scope, to determine the cause of the fluid given the risk of his age and overall medical condition?

Hi and welcome. No,but parcentesis can be done to evacuate fluid Orr ct scan which should be enough to see density of intraabdominal fluid
