What Causes Flushed Cheeks While Suffering From Acid Reflux?

My husband is 75 years old. He has had a mild heart attack, mild stroke and has 2 stints. The last one was put in his chest in Nov 2016. Currently his face is flushed (red cheeks) and the past 3 days has been suffering with heart burn/acid reflux we are assuming? What could be causing this and should I take him into emergency? He also has high blood pressure and is on Xerelto. What do you recommend?

Hi,

After going through your medical details I understand your concern and I would like to tell you that your husband needs an immediate medical attention as severe gastric reflux can be erosive and as he is on blood thinners which can lead to intestinal bleeding.

Kindly take him to the treating physician for physical evaluation and treatment.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr Bhanu Partap
