What Causes Foul Smelling Rectal Bleeding During Premenopause?

I have a very strange question. I am a 51 year old female I am premenopausal I have not had a period for about three years. I am on Coumadin due to blood clots in both lungs in 2005. I have been checked for bleeding out my rectum all they found polyps. I m getting checked again 1 August because it has gotten bad enough that I have had to have blood transfusions. Now I don t bleed out my rectum all the time. But I do have to be very careful about what I eat or it will make me bleed such as seeds too much lettuce etc. anyway about once a month I have found that I will bleed out my rectum and it will have an oder of a period. So this is my question have you ever heard of a period coming out your rectum?

Hello,

If you didn't had a period in three years then you are not pre-menopausal but you are in menopause. The period or spotting when in menopause needs to be evaluated. I have never heard of a period coming from rectum. The bleeding from rectum is called rectorrhagia and you may need a colonoscopy to get evaluated.
