What Causes Frequent Dizziness When Diagnosed With Labyrinthitis?
Hi, I have been experiencing dizziness and dizzy episodes. I went to a doctor yesterday and was told it is labyrinthitis. I was given Stemzine and told it would be an immediate relief. I am still experiencing the symptoms and need to be at work. Is there anything else that could help?
The labyrinth is part of the inner ear which is the balancing mechanism in us. There is a two and half coil called the cochlea which is the inner ear. In this there is the labyrinth which contains endolymph fluid. There are hair cells which are connected to nerve receptors. When we move the hair cells get disturbed and then regain their position to maintain balance.
In labyrinthitis there is disease of the inner ear and the hair cells are unable to maintain balance after movement adequately. In some cases it might require time to restore balance. Therefore a person feels dizzy. This can be treated by taking medicine and maintain the balance. Please do not worry.
