What Causes Frequent Migraines With Numbness In Head?

My 23 year old son suffers from migrain and tension headaches. He is a welder and wears a heavy helmet. He also has a bad back from BMX bike riding. He recently said the right side of his head keeps getting numb. Is this anything to be concerned about. Should he see a doctor.
