What Causes Frequent Urination, Dizziness, Gas With Family History Of Diabetes?
My nephew frequently urinates 10 or more times each day. The intake of liquids is not as much as the output. In school, the teacher express that he complains of dizziness. At home, he frequently passes gas. There is a family history of diabetes. Any idea of what is going on?
The child's blood sugar (preferably 2 hours after breakfast) should be checked to detect/rule out Type 1 Diabetes. He has high chances of developing diabetes in view of strong family history.
Diabetes would be excluded if the sugar- 2 hours after breakfast- is less than 140. In that case, get his urine examination and culture done for urinary tract infection.
The dizziness may be due to relative dehydration since his output is much more than water intake.
Consult your doctor and apprise him of my opinion. I am certain that he will agree with me and will get tests for diabetes done at the earliest.
