What Causes Frequent Urination While Suffering From Diabetes?

Hello, I have Diabetes Insipidis and am having to get up to void my bladder at least every couple hours even though my DI is under control during the day and I take DDAVP. I can actually almost feel my bladder fill up after I lay down much of the time. Is this normal for someone with Diabetes Insipidis?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

Diabetes insipidus does cause thirst and due to drinking a lot, patients do urinate a lot. So it is a normal finding you are having.
On the other hand, if you do not notice much improvement with the treatment that you are having, you may need to let your doctor know so he can see if there is any adjustment needed in the treatment.

I hope this answers your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Antoneta Zotaj, General & Family Physician
