What Causes Frequent Urine Infection And Diarrhea In A Diabetic?
hi, I am sangeetha. My mother is diabetic patient for 5 years(predicted by doctor) and cardiac patient for one year. Now she is getting urinary infections often with pyuria and after taking antibiotic sterile pyuria. She underwent urine culture for more than three times. She got E.coli in the culture and got antibiotics. I think she is taking different antibiotics for more than a year but her infection is coming again. Now her sugar level is slightly normal. She often gets diarrhoea often and she is hospitalized for the following reasons often. Her pyuria is more than 80 now. I am from Tiruchirappalli and please help. She had levofloxacin, ofloxacin, ceflxacin, etc Thank You. YYYY@YYYY
hi sangeetha..vanakam...in my opinion for an effective infection Controll she needs to be good controlled in diabetes also.usually ecoli is most common infection of urinary tract infections.try to shift her to insulin for a better control at least for few days.in recurrent uti any abnormality in kidney like renal stones also should be considered.usually we will prescribe some drug called nitrofurantoin for a long term basis of course 2-3 months also.remember always better sugar control will give you better out comes......regards
