Hi,I am Dr. Santosh Kondekar (Pediatrician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What are other causes for frontal bossing in a 6 month old infant besides the common causes listed on websites? We had a cranial ultrasound and there is no sign of hydrocephalus but the head is still in the 83%. The baby was 5 weeks early with severe growth restriction and RDS.
There can be other causes like craniosynostosis. It is advisable to consult a plastic surgeon and have the surgery done only after all the cranial fissures have fused. I am not prescribing an age limit since in your child it could be different from the norm.
