Hi.
Thanks for your query.
Noted the history of being on Clindamycin in April and since then had gas, bloating,
constipation and this week
low back pain that came after cramps which come and go - that is spasmodic. Taken Tylenol for back pain; heat pad and walking for back pain, Pharmacist advised to take Sodium Docusanate and wants to know whether to take it not...
As per the history you have provided, the problem looks to be inflammation of the intestines or o on and Sod Docusanate may enhance the problems hence do not take it.
You can easily and safely pas the Suppositories in rectum for easy passage of bowel movements.
I would advise you the following:
First of all to send the sample of stool for lab for three consecutive days.
Blood and urine tests.
Ultrasonography of the abdomen and CT scan of the abdomen if required along with
colonoscopy First of all try probiotics and if the there is no improvement go for a course of an antibiotic and
metronidazole which may solve the problems.
The reports of the investigations will give the diagnosis and a plan for further management .
