What Causes Genital Herpes?

I took a blood and urine test and the Dr. Called and said I tested positive for herpes, but I have none of the symtoms of sores or discharge or vaginal bleeding. He says it may be dormat and that should see my Ob-GYN since he is an internal Medicine DR. Is it possible he may have misdiagnosed the herpes as HPV?

Mostly no as herpes is known to stay dormant for long periods of time in some individuals. Yous should see obgyn.
