Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Causes Glare In Left Eye Post Cataract Surgery?
I had cataract surgery on both eyes this past June 15 and since then I have an awful amount of glare with my left eye that disrupts my being able to see beyond street lamps or on-coming traffic head lights more so at night than during the daylight hours. My right eye is doing just fine. What could have caused this? Is there a remedy to correct this? Help!!!! Thank You for your response to this blinding condition!
Hello and welcome to HCM, Glare in left eye after undergoing cataract surgery is suggestive of some disturbance of the intra-ocular lens in the left eye. The increasing glare could be due to dislocated intra-ocular lens, truncated edges of the intra-ocular lens or any other disturbance of the intra-ocular lens. I suggest you to consult your treating ophthalmologist for clinical assessment of the intra-ocular lens. Any disturbance of the lens needs to be corrected.
Thanks and take care Dr Shailja Puri
