What Causes Green Vaginal Discharge Along With Pain And Itching?
I m experiencing greenish vaginal discharge with no smell, very little pain or itching. I tried a 3day over the counter medication which seemed to decrease symptoms some but still have the discharge. Also experiencing right shoulder pain which is increasing. Not sure if they re related. Should I just try a different over the counter medication?

General & Family Physician, Dr. Priyanka's Response
Hi,
Green vaginal discharge along with pain and itching may indicate a bacterial infection, such as bacterial vaginosis or trichomoniasis. These infections are usually treated with prescription antibiotics, so it is recommended to see a healthcare provider for proper diagnosis and treatment.
It is also important to note that shoulder pain is not typically associated with vaginal infections and maybe a separate issue. It is recommended to discuss any additional symptoms or concerns with a healthcare provider for appropriate evaluation and management.
Using a different over-the-counter medication without consulting a healthcare provider may not effectively treat the underlying infection and may worsen the symptoms. It is important to follow the instructions on any medication and to seek medical advice if symptoms persist or worsen.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Priyanka, General & Family Physician
