Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Often I have gurgling in my stomach in the evening that also causes my legs and feet to hurt (feel uncontrollable). I am so uncomfortable it causes me to lose sleep. I get up and stretch and walk around the house but to no avail. Do you have any ideas re the cause?
Gurgling of the stomach is commonly due to increased intestinal activity (peristalsis) or over eating. It is often heard while passing loose stools or while eating. It can be controlled by avoiding to overeat, avoiding to eat food that trigger the formation of gas & discomfort.
Eat food slowly, take alkaline food over acidic food, drink water before you eat, avoid staying sedentary, chew slowly & take time to eat. Get clinically examined to detect if you are suffering from GERD. You may need antacid & PPI's.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Nupur K, General & Family Physician
