Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hello sir This is swathy.. 23yrs old. My hands are always trembling. And there is also nervewastage in my left hand thumb nd forefinger. When consulted with Dr he said it s because of hirayama disease. I ve been asked to take CT scan nd MRI. Is there any cure for this? Nd when ll my hands stop trembling? Wat should I do for this?
If this is a new tremor you are experiencing the major question to answer would be whether or not it is present mostly or more noticeable when the hand is engaged in activity or at rest in your lap? If the tremor clearly gets worse with action, such as trying to hold an object, write your name, or eat with a spoon or fork, then you may have what we call an intention or action tremor.
Notice that I did not say the condition, Parkinson's disease because simply based on one piece of information that you've given it would be impossible to make such a diagnosis. However, if the tremor you mention is more active when you are not doing much with the hand then, other neurological tests need to be done in order to really come to a good solid diagnosis and this would be best carried out by a neurologist since there are a number of things that must be looked at and entities to be ruled out.
Hope I have answered your query.
