What Causes Hand Tremors?

Hi my father is a police officer for past 30 years and he has been through tough training including handling of weapons during his younger age. Now he is 58 years old. Recently i noticed that while hold a spoon his hand shakes vigorously for which he has to hold it with the other hand to eat. Likewise the same problem persists while writing with his pen. But other times he is very normal. He has mild sugar problem. Apart from that he is perfectly normal for his age. (For info- he still goes to his work on his scooter and travel 50 km everyday both ways.) Please advice.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello dear from my own opinion I am suggesting that your dad is gradually developing a disease called parkinsonism in line with the symptom of tremors so please take him to the lab for dopamine level test to rule out this illness
