What Causes Hard Acne In The Left Armpit?

I have a hard pimple like thing in my left armpit. It s really hard but the only exit for the pus is at the very top of the bump. And it s about a good inch around the pus exit. It will only pop once a day (mostly at night) with no size difference. The pus is a yellowish green color. Should I be concerned ?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

Yes, it needs to be treated, it is an abscess ( a localized collection of pus)
and needs to be treated by your doctor.

Treatment of an abscess would normally involve :(1) in office incision and drainage of the abscess. This is needed to get rid of as much as possible of the pus.
If a small amount remains, it can cause the abscess to recur.

(2)antibiotics- a course of antibiotics would be needed

I hope this helps
