As per your complain a hard bump on the centre of the palate can be related to sinus infection and can be an inflamed minor salivary gland ( Adenoma) which is swollen secondary to infection and taking antibiotics and Anti-inflammatory painkiller like Ibuprofen can relieve.. Other common causes that can be unrelated to infection can be a Mucous Cyst known as MUCOCELE and can occur due to either blocked duct of Salivary Gland or ruptured duct of Salivary Gland.. It mostly resolve on its own but if it is persistent surgical removal has to be done..
One more common cause is, in case if the bump is bony hard and feels like bone below it can be a Palatal TOROUS and if it is the cause surgical removal is the only treatment of choice..
You can consult an Oral Physician and get evaluated and treatment can be planned accordingly..
Hope this information helps..
