What Causes Hard Lump On The Collar Bone?

My father noticed a couple of days ago a bump in his collar bone- near neck not towards shoulder. I saw it today, it s protrudes out and is hard, doesn t hurt. What is this? He started two weeks ago building a bathroom in my house- cutting through cement floors framing using hammers. A lot of physical activity- hes71

I really appreciate your concern, if this is due to injury (fall) then it could be bony lesion, else this could be lymph node ideally it has to be sent for x-ray study as long as the injury is concern, else no need to worry about lymph node if it does not increase in size not becomes tender hope this information helps.
