What Causes Hard Spot On Bicep After Receiving Several IV Shots?

I recently was shot 6 weeks ago and was in the hospital a couple weeks. So of course I had many ivs put in me and lots of needles. On my right bicep I have a vein that has a hard spot in about 3/4 of an inch long and just barely tender. I'm wondering what this is? Is it dangerous or life threatening it doesn't hurt really but can tell it's definitely not supposed to be like that! Can you help?

General Surgeon 's  Response
Respected Sir, hi I evaluated your query thoroughly.
This condition is clinically known as Thrombophlebitis of the vein.
Nothing serious or dangerous / life threatening but certain simple measures
you have to take to be fine.
*Apply ice 4-5 times a day for 3-4 min. per day.
*Apply Thrombophobe ointment on affected part with gentle application not
harshly extending from center part towards both ends of the vein for 5-6
times a day for 2-3 minutes.
*If clinical examination reveals much redness then we in our clinic prescribe
Fluoroquinolone group of antibiotics with anti-inflammatory agents.
Hope this clears your query.
Thanks for using Health Care Magic and reviewing my answer.
Wishing you fast and speedy recovery from the same.
Regards
Bye Dear Take Care.
