What Causes Headaches, Neck Pain And Blurred Vision?

My sister who is 54 had an mri scan after suffering headaches, neck pain and blurred vision, They ssid there was a problem near the bootic nerve and have arranged a consultation with a consultant next week. They started her on high dose of steroids at 12 tabs daily for a week. What do you think could be wrong, I am nurse trained and worry it may be something serious.

Hi,

Optic nerve swelling is one of the more common things one sees in Multiple Sclerosis. BUT, the difference between MS and mononeuritis is merely that you need TWO different things being involved to say MS. In both, an area get attacke by the immune system. and these attacks crescendo and then get better. Still, inflammation can permanently harm vision so, lowering inflammation with steroids is often done.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
