What Causes Hearing Loss And An Inflammation In Ears?
about 9 months ago I had a double inner ear infection that lasted 6 months. I was given antibiotics for months until I was finally given steroids that were able to kill the infection. since the infection I have lost a good amount of hearing and am still experiencing alot of inflammation in my ears and have become very sensitive to loud or high pitched noises (It makes my ears feel like they are being stabbed with pencils or something and feels like my ears are going to bleed). About a week ago I noticed a decrease in my energy level and another drop in my ability to hear, I went to the doctor and was informed that I once again have an ear infection. I am taking the antibiotics as prescribed and am now smelling chlorine constantly. Like the smell you get after you accidentally inhaled pool water thru your nose. I have drainage and sinus pressure and am also experiencing some gland swelling that irratates me when i swallow or cough. Fluid seems to be moving into my chest while i am sleeping so i am spending the first hour every day coughing up all sorts of stuff. I have had ear problems since I was little and had tubes in my ears as a child. 4 years ago when I was pregnant one of my ear drums randomly burst while I was sleeping. I didn t have an infection or inflammation at the time. I m just not really sure what is wrong with me. I have had atleast 4 ear infections every year (most years it s every other month) and they always last forever and take multiple rounds of antibiotics or steroids to get rid of. Is this fixable? I feel like I can t take a shower without getting an ear or sinus infection, or both.
