What Causes Heart Palpitation And Sickness Sensations?

Hi, I am having a sensation every night as I am trying to go to sleep as if my heart has stopped and it leaves me with the most sickening feeling afterwards. This is ongoing most of the night. I have recently stopped smoking with Nicotine patches, although I take them off before going to bed.

Hello,
Palpitations can be caused by sleep deprivation, stress, smoking etc. In this kind of presentation, I advise my patients to do an ECG test because of the history of smoking, to make sure the palpitations are not caused by an underlying heart condition. I advise you see your physician and discuss this possibility with him/her. Best regards
