The two commonest conditions in which a
rapid heart rate occurs, are :-
1. Acute
anxiety (loosely called Acute Panic reactions) in the background of a persistent mental stress/chronic anxiety. If you are indeed passing through constant mental stress/anxiety (with or without
depression), a course of anti-anxiety drug (with or without anti-depressant drug, as the case may be) will give tremendous relief.
2. Defect of the impulse conduction in the heart. An EKG/ECG will reveal the nature of the conduction defect; or, if required, Electrophysiological Study (EPS) will accurately diagnose the condition. Appropriate treatment will give total relief.
Chest pain can occur in both conditions, particularly in impulse conduction defect. Control of heart rate will automatically cure chest pain.
