I was on the birth control shot for two years until feb. of 2011. it was mostly for the birth control but also to help with irregular but mild and few periods. i hadnt ever had a period in the two years i was on it- a very few mild cases of spotting. then i was off of it for 9 months and didnt have a period at all. i got back on it thanksgiving. last week i started my period. at first i didnt think anything of it. but its gotten heavier and heavier. the last two days (which marked 8 and 9 days having a period which is rare in itself for me), i have had severe cramps (taken tylenol and had heat pads), and usually ive never had any at all. night before last i went thru three super plus tampons. then that morning (in two hours) three more. they were so heavy it flowed past the tampon, underwear and rushed down my leg. then it slowed a bit and went thru four tampons the rest of the day and last night. this morning it picked up again. in a matter of a half hour i had gone thru three tampons. it was so much the tampon literally gushed out. three times. then the last one (the fourth) i pulled out it had a large clot about two inches by one (about the third one ive had that big or bigger). and it still gushed. do i need to go to a doctor or will this pass?
