Hi,I am Dr. Subhankar Chakraborty (Gastroenterologist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Last night I ate a lot and drank alcohol heavily. In the morning I had heavy cramping and then explosive diarrhea. Afterwords I had coffee on an empty stomach. Later today I had bloody mucusy stool. Right now I am only have light cramping in my lower abdomen every once in a while. I have been diagnosed with diverticulitis which was very painful when that happened. I have had another two very small mucusy bloody soft stools with no feces in the stool since this morning. I m worried, what should I do?
You may be suffering from acute diverticulitis/acute bacillary dysentery/irritable bowel syndrome.
Avoid spicy food, caffeinated drinks, and high fatty diet. Take soft drinks, and avoid alcohol. Use tablet Oflox Ornidazole twice a day for five days.
If symptoms not improved, please consult your gastroenterologist, he/she will examine through colonoscopy and endoscopy and then, treat you accordingly.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards, Dr. Penchila Prasad Kandikattu
