What Causes Heavy Menstruation While On Lo Loestrin Fe?

Hi, I have been taking Lo Loestrin Fe for about 3 years now continuously. I have not had a period in the whole 3 years because I took it continuously. Here in the last day I have experienced spotting and then the next day it gradually got heavier taking birth control continuously means I shouldn t be experiencing this. Does that mean my birth control is not working properly? Is it something I should be alarmed about?

I really appreciate your concern, if this is the case of amenorrhea then it may not be due to the hormone medicine but it could be due to hormone changes and such hormone changes can be taken due to certain hormone preparation, it may be due to age too, it is better to see the gynecologist for clinical examination and ultrasonography hope this information helps.
