When I walk I feel a heaviness in my left arm and shallow breathing almost like a burning in my lungs. I have to keep drinking a little water to be able to finish my walk without so much hurting. This has come on since I started the statin . Could it be from the atrovastain?

Hi,

Heaviness in the left arm and pain may be due to stain induced rhabdomyolysis. But please check it out angina or heat attack may also present like this. Herniated disc, tendinitis may present like this.

Please get it done ECG, X-ray neck and TMT, troponin level. Consult your physician/cardiologist he will examine and treat you accordingly.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
