What Causes Heavy Vaginal Bleeding After Embryo Transfer?
hi my name is raj, this is my second ivf, first one was unsuccessful. i have done my embroys transfer on 24th august and i got bleeding on 1st september. 1st and 2nd days it was not very heavy bleeding but today it was bit more and the color of bleeding is black bit brown. tomorrow is my pregnency test due, i am panic cause of bleeding
The possible causes of bleeding after 9 to 10 days of embryo transfer are: - During implantation of embryo as it may damage few of the underlying blood vessels of endometrium some amount of spotting can be seen - Failure of implantation. - Sometimes even when the implantation is successful, the endometrium other than the implanted area can shed some blood during expected period of menstruation
Brown color usually indicates collected blood. As spotting may not always indicates failure of IVF, be hopeful, continue the progesterone tablets which your doctor might have prescribed. Be in rest. Go for pregnancy test tomorrow. Hopefully you may get positive result.
Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Sree Gouri S. R., OBGYN
