Cardiologist 's  Response
Hello,

I would explain that his symptoms could be related to the irritation of the diaphragm.

In my opinion, this is a temporary situation and it will improve soon.

Anyway, if this situation persists, I would recommend taking metoclopramide or valproate for the hiccups. A chest X-ray study and some blood lab tests (complete blood count, PCR, ESR) are necessary.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Ilir Sharka, Cardiologist
