What Causes High ESR Level?
My sister has high esr of 92 , all her MRI Scan and Ct scan were normal fortunately !! even the test of TB was negative !!! finally ANA test has showed that she has ++1 in 100 intensity , nucleoplasm dotted pattern - Hep2 6-20 dots . and probable antibodies against nuclear dots !!! about symptoms she has headache which is not going . what is troubling her !!!

ESR stands for erythrocyte sedimentation rate.
ESR is raised in chronic diseases like tuberculosis, bronchectasis, osteoarthritis, autoimmune diseases like rheumatoid arthritis, SLE etc.
Presence of autoantibodies against the nuclear material is suggestive of systemic lupus erythmatosus (SLE).
SLE is a disease complex which affects multiple organ systems of the body.
For further confirmation an antibody called anti double stranded DNA.
The treatment is mainly by the use of immunosuppressants.
