What Causes High Aldesterone/creatinine/renin And Low Potassium Levels?

my bp averages at 170/105 with pulse rate around 60. My specialist suspects kidney disease with high readings of aldesterone, creatinine, renin and low potassium levels. I have every symptom for Conn s Syndrome. However, the final test was a CAT scan and it showed no abnormalities in the adrenal glands which may rule out Conn s. I am a 65 year old male married 3 times and led a very stressful life. What do you think? I am taking spirolactolone 75 mg a day plus atenolol 25 mg per day. I have another appointment in 3 months and feeling very anxious.

Hi,

Your high readings of aldosterone, creatinine, renin and low potassium level along with high BP are suggestive of kidney disease. You are advised, in the meanwhile, to control your BP. As your pulse is already around 60, you can not increase the dose of Atenolol. You may try increasing the dose of Spironolactone to 100 mg or adding some other anti-hypertensive.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
