What Causes High Fever Along With Body Chills And Appetite Loss?

I am a 71 year old woman in excellent health (until this winter) and on no medications. I do not smoke. I got a case of influenza mid January and from that developed a bronchial infection. Since then I have had one bout of bronchitis after another. My doctor prescribed antibiotics, which were effective momentarily, but within a few days to a week I would be sick again, with high fever, chills, loss of appetite, loss of weight and chest pains. He has not done any blood work, and tells me there is nothing to worry about, but I am concerned that I might have a more serious condition such as TB

HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

It is understandable to be concerned.

You can ask speak to your doctor to ask for blood tests for TB and also for any additional blood tests- complete blood count. A chest xray may also be needed.

It is possible that you are being re exposed to infection.

It may be necessarily to see another doctor for a second opinion.

I hope this helps
