Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hello Dr. My son is 10 years old & weight is 44 kgs.He has high fever like 102-103 from last two days. He has cough too. If I give him combiflan temperature goes down but it again comes up after few hours. What would be your suggestion? What would be reason for high fever?
hello, it seems your son has contacted an infection. Probably viral infection. You havnt mentioned whether the child is active and play in between fever episodes. Usually in viral flu a child would have very high fever for 3-4 days.fever would come 6 hourly when action of combiflam reduces. But you can use combiflam or just paracetomol for another day. if the child is febrile tomorrow also, it is better to do full blood count and CRP to decided whether the child needs antibiotics. meanwhile if the child is getting more ill better meet your paediatrician. Hope this helps. thank you.
